About Us

Montessori Renaissance Academy (MRA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, fueled by parents and school staff.

Formerly known as Minnesota Renaissance School, MRA officially started operating in August of 2017. The school as a whole has more than 22 years of history in Anoka, Minnesota. We currently enroll toddlers, pre-school, and elementary students and have a full middle school curriculum as well.

Encouraging Growth Through Independence, Respect, and Responsibility

Our goal at Montessori Renaissance Academy is to provide the best possible education for each and every student at our school. The Montessori method allows us to help children grow and learn independently, while learning quality life skills.

Through a combination of positive social interaction and the successful manipulation of classroom materials the child learns to become self-motivated, independent and self-confident. With today’s technological society, individuals who have a well-rounded education, with a solid knowledge base, who have the ability to think creatively and solve problems, will be the most successful adults.

Our goal is to meet and exceed your expectations by working to fulfill your child's fullest potential for intellectual and emotional development. Our program is designed to achieve these goals and more. The result is a self-confident, global thinking individual who is happy, peaceful and respectful of themselves, others and their environment.

Benefits of a Montessori Education

We foster a safe, structured environment to help children find excitement in learning. The Montessori methodology we use provides your child with:
  • A proven technique recognizing the nature of each child
  • Focus on developmental stages and requirement that encourage proper intellectual and social growth
  • Understanding and recognition of each child as an individual
  • An environment where students can work at their own pace
  • A place where the child, not the teacher, is the focal point
  • A curriculum that encourages and teaches children to think critically
  • An environment that encourages independence, respect, and responsibility
